FROG THEORY
Put a frog into a vessel fill with water and start heating the water.
As the temperature of the water begins to rise, the frog adjust its body temperature accordingly.
The frog keeps adjusting its body temperature with the increasing temperature of the water.
Just when the water is about to reach boiling point, the frog cannot adjust anymore. At this point the frog decides to jump out.
The frog tries to jump but it is unable to do so because it has lost all its strength in adjusting with the rising water temperature. Very soon the frog dies.
What killed the frog? Think about it !
I know many of us will say the boiling water!
But the truth about what killed the frog was its own “inability to decide when to jump out”.
This is how majority of us live our lives. We do not take heed of the changings affecting our economical situation, expenses, stress that affect our lives which we can avoid, the changes and danger in the world and environment we live in, the hike in prices of things that affect our budget but we keep adjusting to fit in.
We all have retirement time when our energy and resources might not be able to see to our needs, let us take heed.
Taking the scope on the salary earners, the salaries are already scaled and fixed but life needs and their prices keep shooting up. Their salary is not always enough to cater for their needs and are unable to fulfill many of their dreams. Though many services to ease living and cater for their needs are always there but most do overlook them perhaps due to that very steady flow of the salary at the end of the month and the influence the office and seat they occupy offers them at the moment. They continue to adjust until they get retired. After retirement, they come to realize there is urgent need to scale down expenses or increase revenues to cater for the needs and keep them out of financial mess.
This applies also to the business men and women. When it gets too late as we all know that no one determines "time". They try to start their journey to financial freedom and tie-up businesses and investments, but no more energy and opportunity to undergo it. They have traded their active years and swam too long to adjust to the development, change and new ways of living life which new development, technology and research have provided.
We all need to adjust with situations, but we need to be sure when we need to adjust and when we need to move on. There are times when we need to face the situation and take appropriate actions on our expenses, economic situation, situational change especially what is happening in government and our country short and long plans, what affect our basic needs of life and what have you. Taking cognizance of things and acting now is a stitch in time.
